Produced in large quantities and suitable for strong palates, it is a \u003cb\u003epeaty Scotch\u003c\/b\u003e and distinctly spicy in perfect Talisker style. The only active distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker has employed \u003cb\u003etriple distillation\u003c\/b\u003e using the Irish method since 1928, a process that produces a smoother whisky. On the wild Isle of Skye, populated by eagles and otters, \u003cb\u003epeat\u003c\/b\u003e thrives, used by the inhabitants as a fossil fuel and to smoke the local salmon as well as the malt from which the \u003cb\u003eTalisker Skye Single Malt\u003c\/b\u003e is made. Moreover, the water from the infiltrated saltwater spring flows over the peat, which gives the whisky an additional smokiness. The trademark of \u003cb\u003eTalisker Skye\u003c\/b\u003e is undoubtedly its pungent salty flavour, and it couldn't be otherwise since the \u003cb\u003eaging\u003c\/b\u003e is strongly influenced by the sea breeze.
