It is very popular in Romania, where it exceeds 10,000 hectares, but also in Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, where it is mainly used for the production of sparkling wines. To a much smaller extent is also found in California and Chile.
||It is a vigorous vine but of varying productivity, whose bunch is of conical-cylindrical shape, with irregular size acorns.

||Capable of giving good acidity, sometimes even more energetic than Chardonnay, but with much lower yields. It does not bear the oak well because its aromas are too delicate.
