The history of Chateau La GURGUE is closely linked to the village of Margaux.
At the end of the nineteenth century, the then mayor of Margaux Mr. Camille Lenoir, became the owner of the Chateau GURGUE. He gave his name to the castle and enriched with some valuable plots, surrounded by vineyards of Château Margaux. They are located Curton, on the best hills of Margaux. THE
Later the castle back to its original name "LA GURGUE, which is a place in the country.
But it was Claire Villars LURTON, the architect of this revival. Year after year he did his best to bring out the unique terroir of Chateau La GURGUE in his wine.
He has embarked on a major restructuring of the cellars of its properties. In parallel, he worked on most of the terroir and the practice of sustainable lives in order to achieve the highest quality. In 2006, with her husband she bought a small property in Saint-Estèphe, endowed with a beautiful plot: Château Domeyne. In this new quality approach, Claire is determined to pursue the challenge of reviving the prestige of its properties and to mark their identity through the expression of the terroir.
