Histoire The cane Magliocco has been cultivated since ancient times in Calabria, Marche and partly in Sicily. The canine Magliocco belongs to the vast family of Magliocchi typical of Calabrian viticulture, among which stands out for its great oenological potential that it possesses over others. The origin of the nameless name is unknown, perhaps because the bunch is small as a fist or sorrel. There has been confusion between the Magliocco and the Gaglioppo that some people continue to call "Magliocco" or "Mantonico nero", but in fact they are two distinct varieties that give totally different organoleptic results.
