Productivity Abundant and constant. The most vigorous screws tend to fruition even on feminine.
Areas of cultivation It is diffused in Piedmont, especially in Roero and in the Belbo valley; In the past, was used to reduce the muscat aroma intensity.
History Difficult to go back to the origin of the vine. Already in the nineteenth century in the Alba, Roero and Langhe areas. Reported by Molon in 906, it has been used in the past as a table grape.
Ampelographic features Leaf: medium-large, pentagonal, quinquelobata, with petiole breast lily; Upper lateral limbs closed and V closed with overlapping edges; Lateral lower limbs; Flat flap, rather thick and bulky, but less than in the "Vermentino"; Flat lobby; Corner at the top of the acute terminal lobes; Upper leaf glabra, green bottle color and with green unlined, matt ribbed; Brilliant or arachnoid red page, of light green color and with green ribs; Very prominent, irregular teeth, on concave margins on one side and on the other convex. Bunch: medium to large or medium (average length: 15 cm); Generally pyramidal, but also cylindrical; Medium sparrow; Simple or with one or two wings, visible, herbaceous or semi-legged peduncle; Of medium thickness. Acino: spheroid, thick pruinous skin, intense amber yellow color.
