Moscato rosa trentino alto adige wines

Trentino-Alto Adige is characterized by a very high percentage of quality wines, as much as 75% of the total production, but what strikes even more is the wide range of planted vines and types of wine produced. In 2009, production was about 1,254,000 hl of wine, with a minimum prevalence of red. The most cultivated grape is in fact the slave, from which, especially in the area around Lake Caldaro, wines of a rather transparent ruby color are obtained, with a subtle scent of cherry and almond and a delicate structure. But Alto Adige is known everywhere especially for its fragrant white wines, obtained from vine-symbols such as gewurztraminer, born in the vineyards around Termeno, muller-thurgau, kerner, veltliner, as well as pinot grigio and pinot bianco , chardonnay and sauvignon, to name just a few. Among the aromatic grapes we can also mention the yellow muscat and the pink muscat, which give excellent passitoes and late vintages, more or less sweet wines, but always endowed with a rich, odorous baggage and a pleasant softness. Among the red berried vines is also experiencing an excellent moment also the native lagrein, from which you get beautiful rosé wines, but especially reds with a compact ruby color, aromas of plum and violet violets on a light herbaceous background, excellent structure and well-defined tannins, even the international merlot, cabernet and pinot noir are always up to the situation, able to combine structure and elegance. In addition to exploiting an ampelographic base similar to that of Alto Agide, Trentino produces red wines mainly based on teroldego and marzemino, with features of structure and longevity different depending on the area for the former, always rather delicate and to be appreciated in youth for the second one, produced in particular in Vallagarina. Here, too, there is no lack of fine dessert wines, above all the Holy Wine produced in the valley of the lakes by the nosiola, an indigenous white-berry vine. Finally, but not least, one of the productions that distinguishes this region is that of classic method sparkling wines, above all based on chardonnay and only partly Pinot Noir, to which Trento DOC is entirely dedicated.
