Ricci Curbastro Brolo dei Passoni Chardonnay Passito 0.5L 2013
Everything about this dessert wine is reminiscent of the ancient winemaking traditions of the Ricci Curbastro family, starting with its name. 'Brolo' is a medieval word that indicates the vineyard and orchard of the house, the most preciously guarded, sheltered by those stone walls that characterise the winery's Franciacorta. The name 'Passioni' recalls, and is still present as a toponym on the maps of the Military Geographical Institute, that Antonio Passoni, the company's founder, who around 1860 built the villa that still stands today in the centre of the Brolo and vast park. Even the label is inspired by Antonio Passoni, reworked from those, still preserved today, with which in 1880 he 'signed' the bottles produced from his vineyards, probably for family consumption.
