A well-balanced and highly enjoyable wine, Le Volte is a cuvée that assembles the best terroirs of Tuscany, combining the Mediterranean expression of Sangiovese, which lends opulence and generosity, with the structure and complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon and the softness of Merlot.
Born in 1991, Le Volte reflects the integrity and style that inspires the entire Tenuta dell'Ornellaia range.

Deep ruby red in colour.

Bouquet

The nose is intensely fruity with hints of berries and sweet spices.

Flavour

A vintage of concentration and structure, it gives Le Volte a particularly full and dense character. The palate is broad and dense, with tannins present but perfectly integrated and soft. The finish is prolonged with fruity notes and a beautiful liveliness that ends in a sensation of great freshness.

Origin Bolgheri - Tuscany.
Vinification Alcoholic fermentation was followed by malolactic fermentation, also in stainless steel tanks. The wine was made separately in small stainless steel tanks respecting the varietal characteristics during different stages of fermentation
Ageing Phase lasted 10 months aging in barrels of 2-4 years,the third passage being used previously for the Masseto and Ornellaia wines. The period spent in the small barrels allows the wine to improve its structure by softening the liveliness of the tannins.
