Attems Cleve Cabernet 2016
Cabernet wines spread in Friuli-Venezia Giulia around the middle of the 19th century. Vineyards of this name were often mixtures of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménerè and were planted as such. In historic vineyards in the region, one still indistinctly finds these three varieties grown in the same plot. In Attems, in the name of tradition, in 'Cleve' the winery has combined the nuances and flavours of these three varieties in a delicate but characterful 'Cabernet del Collio'.

Colour

Bright, carmine red with purple hues.

Bouquet

The nose is very intense and characteristic, with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry blended with more herbaceous sensations of nettle, cedar and a hint of Carménerè that emerges as ripe plum and green pepper. Then come sweeter sensations of dark chocolate.

Flavour

The palate is lively and captivating, with a fresh acidity that enhances the fruity sensations and creates an exciting contrast to the already velvety tannins in a long finish of field grasses, red fruits and graphite.
