The Visconti family put down its roots on Lake Garda about a century ago and has always had a deep connection with this territory, so much so that it was this family that believed in the potential of the Turbiana vine, an indigenous grape found in the area south of Lake Garda, even before Lugana became a denomination of origin.
As early as the 1950s, in fact, the Visconti family, after several decades of activity, was preparing to make a name for itself as the first ambassador of what would in time become one of the most exciting appellations in Italian oenology, demonstrating great foresight and faith in the potential of Lugana, a denomination that was practically unknown at the time.
The passion and tenacity of the Visconti family allowed this vine to spread throughout the southern area of the Benaco, straddling Lombardy and Veneto, until it became the most important white grape of our territory and contributed to making Garda wines famous nationally and internationally.
