Folle Blanche

Information about Folle Blanche

Grape variety Folle Blanche
Grape colour White grape
Vigour Good
Areas of cultivation La Folle blanche is a white grape variety typical of the French regions of production of Cognac and Armagnac.
History It is also known as Picopoule despite having no ties to the Picpoul of the Languedoc. To increase its resistance to phylloxera it was bred with Baco 22A. The Folle blanche is akin to the very resistant species of Baco 1, or Baco noir and produces, like its allies, a very acid wine that lends itself very well to distillation.
